Purrfect Candidate: We prefer candidates with LVT or LVT-VTS credentials or students currently in Veterinary Technician school, with 1+ years of experience in urgent, emergency or critical care.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors.
- Perform diagnostics such as phlebotomy, cystocentesis, in house laboratory testing (CBC’s, blood chemistries, urinalysis, SNAP tests, blood typing, cross matching) blood pressures and radiographs. , take vitals, use and perform medical math
- May include some lifting or carrying (up to 50 lbs). Will include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Maintain medical records by documenting patients’ conditions, reactions, and changes; updates database in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining equipment supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Using critical thinking to work positively as a team player; remaining calm and professional while effectively problem solve.
- Exhibits excellent customer service skills when engaging with clientele.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor, Hospital Manager or Medical Director as needed.

Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Emergency Veterinarian to join our amazing team at The Regional Veterinary Referral Center (RVRC). The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with our clients. You will work alongside a team of experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff and will work closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager.
The RVRC is centrally located near Washington DC and receives referrals from across the Mid-Atlantic region. We offer specialty care in cardiology, emergency/critical care, internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, neurology, radiation oncology, medical oncology and rehabilitative medicine with a licensed veterinary physical therapist. In addition to our specialties, our center houses an I-131 treatment center (Radiocat), ultrasound, digital radiography, linear accelerator, CT and an MRI unit. Also, our in house diagnostic center allows you to get rapid and accurate patient analytic data to make informed patient decisions.

Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups
- Client communication and education
- Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery

- Pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications to patients and following controlled substance protocols

Qualifications (Required)
- Veterinarian degree (DVM) from an accredited college or university
- Current State Veterinary License
- DEA registration must be obtained and maintained
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary emergency practice

- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

- Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with pets experiencing severe stress, illness, or pain.

- Some tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work.
- Position does require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Position Overview:
The Emergency Team Lead is an acting supervisor who performs the duties of medical technical staff and is the point of contact for the team to expedite the care and efficiency of the department. In charge of client and patient care standards for the department during their shift. Must lead the team by example by demonstrating organizational skills, following company policies, and maintaining a professional attitude.
Essential Functions:
- Addresses concerns of staff and doctors while on duty and responds appropriately or directs concerns to the department manager or hospital manager if needed
- Stays up to date on all protocols and trains staff on shift, on all appropriate training, procedural, and protocol guidelines for the team and ensures staff compliance during shift.
- Corrects and/or praises staff on duty for performance during shift
- Ensure the safety of staff and patients and follow the hospital safety guidelines during an emergency.
- Troubleshoot equipment as needed and keep the equipment manager and Hospital Manager informed of necessary repairs/replacements.
- Ensure charges are correct throughout the shift to allow clients to receive proper financial updates.
- The beginning shift assessment of all patient status, history, current treatments and verifying that all treatments match the doctor's orders.
- Administrative duties as delegated by the Hospital Manager and Medical Director.

We are seeking a dedicated Board-Certified or Residency Trained Small Animal Internist to join our team. Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups
- Client communication and education
- Maintaining accurate medical records
- Pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications to patients and following controlled substance protocols
- Promote teamwork and staff efficiency
- Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
- Evaluate and monitor protocols for the daily running of the hospital from intake to discharge
- Monitor cases in the hospital and attend daily rounds when possible to be sure the highest standards are being upheld
- Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels
- Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications (Required)
- Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university
- 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, ER (university or large referral practice).
- Completed a 3-year, AVMA approved residency program
- Current State Veterinary License
- DEA registration must be obtained and maintained
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care.
- Excellent Communication Skills and the ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and in a timely manner with all members of the Medical and Hospital staff.
- Client communication skills, must be able to elicit information, establish rapport, offer explanations with pet owners.
- Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with pets experiencing severe stress, illness, or pain.
- May include some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Some tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work.
- Position does require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

- 2-5 years of experience post-residency
- Clinical Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skill in examining and assessing animals. Perform cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological and other necessary examinations. Diagnosis and prescribe appropriate treatment.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to develop solutions to challenges relating to the management of a high-quality veterinary hospital.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrate effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients. Display effective communication with internal medical and hospital staff.
- Professionalism: Work as part of a high-quality, professional veterinary team with the ability to provide and receive appropriate constructive criticism, suggestions, and feedback.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Board-Certified or Residency Trained Veterinary Criticalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with our clients. You will work alongside a team of experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff and will work closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager.
The Regional Veterinary Referral Center (RVRC) offers 24/7 emergency and critical care and provides specialty services consisting of Surgery, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Neurology, Cardiology, Radioiodine, and Physical Rehabilitation.
