Dr. Bonnie Lefbom
Dr. Bonnie Lefbom is passionate about providing state of the art veterinary cardiology for pets and deeply values the relationships she develops with pet families. Having spent several years as a primary care vet before she specialized, Dr. Lefbom is well aware of the emotional and financial side of treating her patients. She works closely with owners to help decide the best approach for each pet and their family. Dr Lefbom regularly provides continuing education lectures and has several articles published in refereed journals.
Dr. Lefbom’s non-work life is busy and fun with the Lefbom family zoo – 3 young adult children who are in and out of the house and 3 very spoiled dogs. She travels to Kenya every year to work with the orphanage she supports through her 501c3, non-profit, FTKI. In her “spare” time, she loves to play almost anything – tennis, golf and volleyball are favorites along with cheering for local sports teams including her Alma Mater – the Terps!
Dr. Lefbom divides her clinic time between the Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield, VA and VCA SouthPaws Veterinary Referral Center in Fairfax, VA.
